New Jupiter!!!

Jupiter delivers again. Third song of pure disco synth pleasure. Stuttering synths with gurgling bass and candy coated annie-esque vocals.

Jupiter - Chip

And All These Weird Creatures Who Lock Up Their Spirits, Drill Holes In Themselves & Live For Their Secrets.

It seems our friend Dr. Watson over at the hip-hop chocolate factory made of shooting stars has recently been remixing the fuck out of the west coast.  All that remains is the glittery hyper-produced track that honestly embarrasses Starfox & Falco for not making electro, my God he breaks it down like it's his 9 to 5.

This one is for the lollipop flavored electrocat and her mexican electroboss bunny rabbit.

This Is What Happens When An Unstoppable Force Meets An Immovable Object.

The Joker: Aka Simple Sunny 2 with The Dark Knight

So yesterday I was in high spirits driving around with my pal Peppy (aka Asa) and he was telling me how much he enjoyed my last mix called "Simple Sunny Electro". You can find that mix here: FIRST SIMPLE SUNNY ELECTRO MIX.

Well I left that car ride in high spirits and went back to my house to make Simple Sunny Electro 2. It was all well and good until I left the mix half unfinished before I went to see the new Batman movie late last night. Well I woke up and finished my mix to find out that the movie had made me feel a tiny bit dark this morning so the mix kind of changes attitude in the middle, I tried to make the shift as smooth as possible. But Simple Sunny Electro 2 can't have Motor in it. So for those people who want to hear the entire mix, in all its schizophrenic glory, I have it for you.

The Joker Mix
1. Sneaky Sound System - Kansas City (Lifelike remix)
2. Muscles - Sweaty (Shazam Remix)
3. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle (Computer Club Remix)
4. ALB - Sweet Sensation (Breakbot Remix)
5. PNAU - Embrace (Fred Falke & Miami Horror Remix)
6. Jupiter - Starlighter
7. Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Epic Last Song (Lifelike Remix)
8. Bag Raiders - Fun Punch (Calling In Sick Remix)
9. Ghosthustler - Someone Else's Ride
(^That half is the true Simple Sunny Electro 2 mix, and then it gets a little bit more intense)
10. The Dirty Secrets - Five Feet of Snow (Miami Horror Remix)
11. Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me (Grum Remix)
12. LA Priest - Engine (Erol Alkan Re-Edit)
13. Foals - Hummer (Surkin Remix)
14. Dragostea - Din Tei (SebastiAn Remix)
15. Britney Spears - Outrageous (Felix Cartel Big Girl Remix)
16. SebastiAn - Momy
17. MGMT - Electric Feel (Justice Remix)
18. Mr. Miyagi - Pick Your Poison (Felix Cartel Remix)
19. SebastiAn - Walkman Re-edit
20. SebastiAn - Motor

****************************************************
Because I am not a complete asshole I split the mix up in two for everyone just in case someone just wants the nice electro. Hey maybe one of you just wants the massive banger section of the mix 2, I don't know.

So I present you Simple Sunny Electro 2:

Tracks 1-9 from the Joker Mix: Simple Sunny Electro 2

Tracks 10-19 from the Joker MIx: The Dark Knight

P.S. I am not a real DJ. I can't cut shit up like Surkin or whoever. Think of these as like podcasts or something you would hear on the radio. Like a highlight reel of all my favorite electro tunes. Plz do not post anything about beat matching or I will blow up a boat.

Into The Galaxy.

Starfox & Falco are far out and away from each other and both toil away at their own specific projects out in the galaxy.  Both assume musical salvation and creative confidence in creating their own original works of organized, aggressive disco made out of chrome.  Young and ambitious, both have at their advantage a wardrobe of expensive future fashion, agile minds, and eventually an extensive knowledge of overly complicated electronic producing softwares.

They do all of this to legitimize their owning two of the most expensive jackets known to french touch Ed Banger all-stars.

The Electro Wars Begin.

NEW EVERYTHING - DOWNLOAD IMMEDIATELY

Fucking Relax.

It is summer. Now it is time for you to fucking relax. For real. I know it is time for everyone to pretend they are working on something or actually trying at their job, but for me, summer is the time where I take time to really better myself as a person...and better my music collection. I have recently discovered a need for music that floats in and out of my ears erotically and without loud dissonant sounds trumpeting its arrival. I found all of these songs this past week and they will go on a big cd that I will play when I am not rocking out. They make the day easier.

Well we all know Fake Tats loves Air France. Well, fuck me cuz Air France is not the only amazing group from Sweden (duh...). I honestly want to take a trip to Sweden this summer, why not? So much good music it is actually depressing. Do people in Sweden constantly take painkillers and recieve oral sex? I don't know...but that is what Boat Club reminds me of...painkillers and oral sex.

Boat Club - All The Time

Boat Club - Memories

Boat Club - Spanish Castles

Well aren't they just amazing. What is it...like a mix of Studio and Air France? Or just like a different version of Studio that rocks a lil' less and pops a lil more? Idk...but I am really happy I found this shit.

More from sweden!!!

Melpo Mene is the guy who sang "I Adore You", a song I posted with all the other Swedish gems. That song is now a classic thanks 2 Fake Tats (just kidding...but it is now a classic in my circle of friend(s)). N E WAYZ I found more music by this guy and like his song I Adore You, it is really heartwarming and just downright pretty music. Check out some of his other tracks.

Melpo Mene - Jedi

Melpo Mene - Snakes And Lions

Well in Baltimore there was this post punk band called Wilderness that was evidently pretty sick, I need 2 check them out. Their guitar player made a solo album and it is this really weird version of Post Punk that is kind of ambient or something...he loops really catchy / ANGULAR HEHEH guitar lines and sings over them. I don't know if you will like it but it's the kind of stuff that makes me feel very isolated and emotional when I listen to it. I love it. Oh by the way he goes by the name The Lord Dog Bird, is that a reference to the Verlaines album?

The Lord Dog Bird - No Security

The Lord Dog Bird - Walking With You

Now for something really different, some Flying Lotus for you. My friend emailed me and told me to check out his other songs and now I am really mad at myself for not posting some of these earlier/playing some of these for my friends earlier or back in the day when I used to smoke pot. These are some instrumental gems in the vein of Madlib if he listened to a lot more electronic music instead of a lot of jazz. Really funky, really good.

Flying Lotus - GNG BNG

Flying Lotus - Beginners Falafel

Flying Lotus - Melt

This is kind of a one off and not my favorite track in the post but still really good for playing in the car or during work or while reading or while making out with someone sensually.

Born Ruffians - I Need A Life (Four Tet Remix)

Listening to Four Tet makes me think of my other love in that genre of really really warm sounding electronic music that is perfect for accompanying ANYTHING: Pantha Du Prince. This guy rocks.

Raz Ohara and The Odd Orchestra - Kisses (Pantha Du Prince Remix)

The Long Blondes - Guilt (Pantha Du Prince)

Okay so we are coming to an end here...another massive post from Star Fox...holding the fort down while Falco is flying off somewhere doing something or other. Kleerup is awesome. He is also from Sweden. Do I really need 2 say anything else...do I need to even blog about non-swedish music?

Kleerup - Until We Bleed (with Lykke Li)

Kleerup - Longing For Lullabies (with Titiyo)

Well have a happy summer. This is another massive post from your boy Star Fox. Signing out.

Hidden Camera Vid of Starfox & Falco Partying!

Pedro & Fred Fuck You Up With New Bangers.

Falco is back.  Posting.  Off the Junk.

Justice is producing the new Chili Peppers album.

Radiohead is coming soon.

Sebastian isn't.

New phone.  New jackets.  New shoes.

  Everything is hooked back up.

Enjoy.

There's no comedown either.

In The Office: Two

Well I'm back in my Office trying to get my headphones to work. The right ear bud keeps turning off so I have to keep my head incredibly still to enjoy the pleasures of listening with BOTH ears. Thankfully I have so many new tunes that I already tested for you guys ready to live here on Fake Tats. I Got a nice selection of fresh music for you, ranging from straight up Dance Rock to new BNGRZ and a lil bit of OTHER 2 keep things interesting.

Let us begin with some Dance Rock:

Late of The Pier - Broken
^Sick. Awesome drums and guitar leads.

Bloc Party - Mercury
^New Bloc Party single...really weird. Has horns and electronic touches. I'm confused but I like it.

Friendly Fires - Lovesick
^First song I've ever heard from this group. Real good stuff.

The Long Blondes - Five Ways To End It (Erol Alkan Remix)
^I love this group. Their last album wasn't as good as their first. But at least we have this remix from Erol Alkan to crank up in our convertibles.

Metronomy isn't really Dance Rock but it is dancey and weird.
Metronomy - Heartbreaker

Metronomy - Back On The Motorway

I guess we are moving more into the electronic realm. I got some goodies of course.

Midnight Juggernauts - Dystopia (Turkish Prison Remix)

Midnight Juggernauts - Dystopia (Cut Copy Remix)
^Both of these are quality I will let you decide which one is better.

Fischerspooner - Danse En France (D.I.M. Remix)
^Alright, alright. I know. We are now in the realm of bangers.

Redial - 45 Overdrive
^This song rips it apart. [Highly Rec'd]

Bounce Camp - Big Dancin'
^This song makes everyone in the room get down.

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl (Mr. Gaspar Remix)
^Remember how annoying this song is? Well it got remixed by Mr. Gaspar and now it is good. [Highly Rec'd]

Kissy Sell Out - You're On Fire
^Song title says it all.

Flying Lotus - Robotussin (feat. Lil Wayne)
^[HIGHLY REC'D]

Alright I doubt anyone will download all of these songs at once. I put up some heat here today, and I can go to sleep happy. I know today my job wasn't completly pointless.

Zach Condon - Venice

Animals Talking

I just want to echo exactly what BiBaBiDi said about Animals Talking becuase it is spot on.

"If all U.K. guitar-pop bands were as good as Animals Talking, N.M.E. would be a 500-page weekly and music blogs would have a pretty tough time keeping up with the times. Fortunately, the London quartet is a rare gem, so for now, we'll just cherish them.

While the below two demos are pretty rough and sound crummier than they ought to, the beauty of Animals Talking's lo-fi indie-pop is undeniable and clearly juts out amongst the fuzz and scuzzy recordings that most likely were recorded in one take or minimally mixed. Or something. Keep an eye on these four as they're bound to churn out some phenomenal stuff ..."

****************************************

If you download one song this week from Fake Tats make it this one:

Animals Talking - It Was

Don't get me wrong. All four of these songs have more charm than most bands I have ever heard. That is how I would describe the band's sound...charmingly gloomy and goofy. It gives me a picture of some british boys just messing around with girls, sometimes losing sometimes winning, drinking 2 much, not drinking enough, laughing a lot.

Animals Talking - Reveal

The way these songs are recorded is inspiring to kids everywhere who wanna start their own band. The shitty recording kind of makes it better...sounds like a friend's band. Too bad I don't actually have any british friends.

Animals Talking - Colours

Hehe they spell color the british way. so cute.

Animals Talking - New Dawn

In The Office: One

In The Office is a new series of posts that I (Starfox) will bring to you guys from...my office in Paoli Pennsylvania. I work as an office intern, I was recently assigned a massive filing job that has me at my desk on my computer 24/7...what does this mean for Fake Tats readers? It means that I will use 95% of my time at this job actually cruising the internet looking for new music instead of filing. I will take about 9 to 10 times longer than I should on this assignment just to make myself, and you all...neon.

Today I cruised the internet for a good while and found a handful of certified dope tracks for your pleasure:

Muscles - Sweaty (Shazam Remix)
^Shazam is the jump off. Remember his Pool Party? I was about to post another one of his remixes until I found this banger. Really cool stop/start style with echoes and synths coming in and out all over the place. Also that great jumpy bass he is known for.

data - Rapture (Pacific Remix)
^I think it is Sebastian Grainger singing? Anyways I have the original track, it rocks, but it isn't mastered properly and is too quiet. It is okay cuz this remix by Pacific is actually better. Cool sounds later on in the song that remind me of a vocoder/guitar.

Jupiter One - Countdown (Designer Drugs Remix)
^I have been playing this song for a fucking minute in my car and while listening I completly forget who it was by so I couldn't post it. Lucky for you guys I found it again today. It is one of my favorite remixes of the year, be sure to check it out else you will be missing out on one of the best tracks in awhile.

Yuksek - Composer (Surkin Remix)
^Not his best remix but it is still Surkin so expect the dopest/choppiest/poppiest electro. If you have a good sound system then you will want to play this loudly and Tecktonik poorly.

Heads We Dance - My Heart Is Set On You (Louis La Roche Remix)
^A bit of a change of pace from our man Louis. Not as house-y, little bit more chilled out electro disco-y. Still quality. Peep it.

Cut Copy - Hearts On Fire (Kimono Kops Remix)
^I know, I know, I need to chill out with the Hearts On Fire remixes. Well, fuck you. I love this song and people keep intrepeting it differently so I am posting yet another(maybe my 5th?) remix of it. This one is great.

Justice Shows You Their Real Electric Feel.

Conquering the earlier original fake anti-culminating remix, Justice has put out their first real remix of 2008.
It's the fucking jumpoff.

Swedish Love!!! (Now Updated With Even More Tracks!!!)

Sweden makes the best new music (along with Australia and France). Klicktrack is a swedish music website that sells songs itunes style. I looked at all the most popular tracks and found some fucking gems. I will upload these gems for you!!!

Hello Saferide - I Was Definitely Made For These Times
^Really catchy/jingly anthem for the kiddies. Gotta love it. Really catchy with cool multi-tracked vocals at the end.

The Embassy - The State 08'
^Even catchier! Awesome bassline and acoustic strums bounce underneath some swedish dude singing in that amazing swedish way! Complete with "ahhhhhhs" and "ohhh yeaaaa".

Jens Lekman - Sipping On The Sweet Nectar (Bogdan Irküks Love Nectar Mix)
^Aw YeaH! Where has this mix been my whole life? I have no idea who Bodan Irkuks is but he made this sunny day sample anthem into a chilled out late night disco slow explosion. This is a must have and will turn summery night drives into super romantic slow-mo movie scenes!!

Melpo Mene - I Adore You
^Why the fuck do I not live in Sweden...so many tunes.

As an encore I am going to upload the rest of the tracks that I haven't already uploaded from Studio's Yearbook 2.

Studio is from Sweden and they, like everyone else who lives there, make amazing music. These tracks are all remixes, they are super chilled out and really spacey. Great for driving, kissing, and water sports.

Williams - Love On A Real Train (Studio Remix)

Rubies - Room Without A Key (Studio Remix)

Brennan Green - Escape From Chinatown (Studio Remix)

UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!UPDATE!
Wow! I found even more sunny summer gems!!

I Are Droid - Time On Time
^Who said all Swedish music is chilled out and totally happy? This song...well it still manages to be sunny somehow but it has edge and is really good.

Air France - Beach Party
^Break out track from Fake Tats fave Swedes Air France. From their earlier EP. Amazing duh.

Parken - Åt Helvete Med Himlen
^I have no idea what the title of this song means..anyone want to translate? It is a strange one though, but totally amazing. It sounds like Swedish hip hop.

Panda Bear Micromix from Deerhunter Blog

Panda Bear (along with Avey and the Geologist) made a mix for Deerhunter's blog. The link is currently down on that site for the mix but luckily Starfox snatched it up in time. Here is what Pandy Panda had to say about the mix and the tracklist:

"we had some trouble with rain today. the sky kind of threatened most of the evening and we got worried about being electrocuted some. we had put some small tarps and shirts and things over the equipment and hoped the skies would clear until finally a pocket of blue sky slowly opened just up above us and grew out until most of the sky seemed less scary.
while we played i was sure for a little bit that i had been in that place doing the same thing and then i thought maybe i had just dreamt it before. i should say i felt really good when the guy who had put on the show seemed happy and glad that it hadnt gotten rained out. i was glad too for sure. these are some songs that have been making me feel psyched recently.
the mogollar song is for fitz for sure. the thin lizzys are for fitz and for brad both and i should say theyre probably the most listened to on tours these days. some of these jams have been good ones for a while and some are just new for me."

1. Mogollar - Katip Arzuhalim Yaz Yare Boyle
2. Davey Graham - Both Sides Now
3. Thin Lizzy - Honesty Is No Excuse
4. Amy Winehouse - Love Is a Losing Game
5. Sugababes - Push the Button
6. Sparks - My Other Voice
7. Lindstrom - Arp She Said
8. Daft Punk - Make Love
9. Erykah Badu - Soldier
10. Thin Lizzy - Sitamoia
11. The Zombies - Leave Me Be
12. Echo and the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain

Panda Bear's MicroMix
^I listen to this while at work...really awesome mix.
